Registration

Anyone living or working in Lothian is entitled to join the Resource Centre. You will be asked to complete a registration form and provide proof of identity. Your details will be held on a database for Resource Centre purposes only.

Books/Teaching packs/Videos/Laminated posters/Models

The Resource Centre has an extensive collection of resources covering all aspects of health promotion together with healthcare management and related subjects. Up to six items can be borrowed for a period of three weeks. Items can be renewed by telephone if they have not been requested by other borrowers and it is also possible to book resources in advance to ensure that they are available for specific dates.

Leaflets/Posters

Leaflets and posters are available on a wide range of subjects. We recommend that you check the availability of leaflets when ordering.
Orders may be placed by telephone, fax, e-mail, in writing or in person but please note that only sample copies can be taken when visiting the Resource Centre. Due to the increased demand for leaflets, the Resource Centre will provide a maximum of 20 copies per title though some titles may only be available in smaller numbers.
Orders which require collection are held in the Resource Centre. Please allow at least seven days for your order to be processed.

Catalogue

Contact the Resource Centre for a leaflet/poster catalogue which is updated annually.

Exhibitions

If you are planning a health event for your organisation, exhibitions on certain subjects can be borrowed for a period of three weeks.

Reference

The Resource Centre has an expanding reference collection, consisting mainly of directories, statistical publications, annual reports and NHS Lothian reports and strategies.

The Resource Centre provides access to The Knowledge Network (www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk).

Publications

An informal bi-monthly bulletin - listing new resources, health events and other developments - can be collected from the Resource Centre or sent out by e-mail. Contact us if you wish your name to be added to the mailing list.

Health Events

There are a large number of health weeks throughout the year. The Resource Centre organises the distribution of materials within Lothian for campaigns supported by NHS Lothian (for example National No Smoking Day/Child Safety Week/National Smile Month/Sun Safety). Single copies of the Health Scotland calendar of health events are available from the Resource Centre.

The Health Promotion Resource Centre hopes to be able to provide a limited number of resources for the following national campaigns.

Please note that all resources now have to be purchased by the Resource Centre therefore supplies cannot be guaranteed.
